Synopsis:
The Clinical Competency Validation Program (CCVP) is ideally suited for any nurse or clinician involved in aspects of infusion therapy and related procedures in any care setting seeking to validate his or her infusion nursing skills. It is an accurate tool for validation of infusion-specific skills and competency as a means of evaluating quality and performance improvement processes of nursing staffs. The CCVP consists of a notebook separated into 5 sections containing 29 specific nursing competencies: Nonvascular, Peripheral-short and Midline procedures, CVAD procedures, Care and Maintenance, and Infusion-related Procedures. Noted for its easy portability, the individual forms can be removed, taken to the bedside for procedural skill validation and returned for safe keeping.
