Synopsis:
Rook's Textbook of Dermatology (7th edition) covers all aspects of skin disease from basic science through pathology and epidemiology to clinical practice; and is considered to be the leading textbook in the world. The seventh edition contains three completely new chapters on immunodeficiency, AIDS and skin ageing; and many chapters have been completely rewritten from scratch. Whilst the book's traditional emphasis on diagnosis has been preserved, there has been an increased coverage of treatment in each of the disease chapters. The book is unique in that each chapter is broken down into smaller, almost self-contained units under a sub-heading. Each of these units is followed by its own set of references before the next unit ends. This lends itself to an electronic database-like format. Rook's Textbook of Dermatology CD-ROM therefore provides dermatologists with an all-encompassing reference source, with the structure and contents matching the paper edition of the book. Furthermore, the navigation and search tools have been greatly improved for this edition.
